Yet another weird SF fan

I'm a mathematician, a libertarian, and a science-fiction fan. Common sense? What's that?

We Pride Ourselves on This

According to Amanda Marcotte:

For a lot of right wing bloggers, politics is just a way to lash out at the cool kids for not letting them sit at their lunch table with them oh so many years ago.
Actually, it is a bit odd how the supposedly non-conformist side is so eager to claim to be successful conformists.

They do that a lot, Joe. In point of fact, their conformism has always been their pride and joy. I vividly recall from my college days their derision of those who didn't dress, talk, and act exactly as they did. Ah, those cannabis-befuddled class-disdaining poets, those greasy-haired fashion plates in unwashed sweatshirts and jeans, those ardent quoters of Mao and Che!

The worst thing is how he can't resist sinking to taking jabs at people's physical appearance. His penis is probably small. /sarc
